Agriturismo La Moraia

Very Poor
Traveller Type: Traveling as Couple
: This place was a rip off. We didnt even go and stay in the end. After booking we received a message on WhatsApp saying there was all these additional things with the booking. Only were able to check in between 5-6pm and if we needed a different time it was 10 each hour. Nothing was included in the price, you had to loan sheets towels and even pay for your electricity and gas use at the end of your stay. You had to pay a cash only bond. I messaged the property back after receiving this message asking what our options were as our bank cards couldnt get cash out and they didnt respond to us. They cancelled our booking and are refusing to give us a refund

: One set of rooms we were shown smelt mouldy, the rooms we took stunk of stale cigarette smoke. While the sheets and towels were clean, the other bedding looked very doubtful. Read all of the small print when booking you have to pay extra for your sheets and towels even though the rooms are made up when you arrive. He wants 150 euro in cash up front as a deposit in case you don't leave clean or damage something and takes the cost of the linen out before giving back your deposit. It is very spartan to say the least and was absolutely freezing when we were there. There were frosts and no means of or offer of any heating. I froze even in bed. The road in is dangerous, you take a left had at a fork in the road, it's a dirt road with a steep drop to one side and half the road is missing. If we hadn't had to pay up front via booking.com, we would not have stayed. We paid for 4 nights and only stayed 3. We left and found somewhere else.

: It's is away from everything. Peaceful
: The cost of the bedding was the same price as the accommodation .t was my fault though because I was making the booking while driving. I did not read the fine print. I don't like it that you have to carry your own bedsheets and duvets. I feel that these types of things should be included as standard because you not booking a camp site Also the swimming pool was not operational. I suppose that is a seasonal thing as well.

: The location was based in a vary pretty and peaceful region. Difficult to get to because of the dirt road but once you reach its very relaxing staying in the middle of olive gardens and rolling hills around you. After arriving the staff gave us free pasta and were very sweet. Makes me feel that theres 2 different people running the booking.com listing and the agriturismo itself.
: The fact that we were not informed about hidden fees until the email was received on the day of the booking. (Though we only booked the night before). The fees included linen, towels etc. You can bring your own and avoid them or pay 15 euros per person to get them. This resulted in the price for our stay more than doubling from around 60 euros to 136 euros. Sleeping bags are also not allowed. The check-in time is also very restricting as you can only check-in between 16-18, we found this out around 14:00 on the same day. After we had an incident and informed them they told us they would only wait till 19:00 and not longer than 19:01.
