  : lovely sunny aspect. Most staff were pleasant and did their best.
  : We only found out on our final morning (from a lovely member of staff) that the hotel was under new management - changed hands 10 days prior to our arrival, and that staffing had been a problem since covid, which could have explained some of the dissatisfactory aspects of our visit. Looking at some of the reviews, however, some of these have been pointed out before.Self service breakfast could have done with having trays to deliver teapot, cups, juice & cereal to tables as they were in a separate room. I was surprised at the lack of choice of cereals - (a wheatabix type and a sweet childrens type only - no muesli & the only fruit was an apple). Perhaps they don't have the demand.I was shocked to find that the restaurant was only open from Tuesday to Friday as a norm and only found out on arrival by being pointed to a notice on the door! (not much use to someone who has travelled over 300 miles to be there)The furnishings and decor were tired and a little dated, although this wasn't really of a concern for us - but it may be something that the new owners would like to address.
