  : The conversion from Abbey to Inn was well executed. The property certainly has the potential to be what it now billed as. Its sits high atop a former strategic spot for the continental army during the Revolutionary war. The rooms are spacious and the attention to detail is excellent. The lawns are beautifully manicured.
  : It is difficult to appreciate the mindset here given the significant investment of capital to convert this property. The first thing you notice upon arriving is an untrained or demotivated staff. One would expect to be greeted by a front desk who is happy to welcome you, but rather we experienced staff who was unpleasant and either unwilling or uninformed of any of the amenities or sites of interest in the area. We arrived at check-in after a 4-hour commute to find the only restaurant in the Inn to be closed. Upon asking the front desk where we might go to have lunch, staff had no idea where to send us, nor did they take an interest in making recommendations. We subsequently requested to see the spa facility thinking that we might relax in the sauna until the restaurant opened for dinner at 5:00pm. The spa attendant was apprehensive in showing us the facility, however we persisted and quickly realized that "spa" was definitely not what one would envision when attaching this to the property name. The sauna is nothing more than a small closet and only available if one books a $170 massage or other procedure.We spent two days here and had the opportunity to dine in their restaurant for breakfast and dinner. My wife and I enjoy a good bottle of wine when we dine out. I typically will scan the wine list with Vivino app to give me some indication of reds that I do not recognize. We chose a di Montalcino based upon its reviews and noticed its retail price was approximately half of the menu price which is not unusual and expected. However, the vintage brought to the table was a 2020 which retails for $25 and we were charged $120. The markup was outside the norm in our opinion. The food itself is certainly acceptable, however nothing memorable. We booked through Booking.com and prepaid the provided rate. Upon checkout we were told that we must pay a commission to booking which was an additional $166.

  : We like the staff and the gardens including the view
  : They did not do room service and you had to request it. The did not change linen or towels you had to request it. They run out of certain towels. There were bugs in the room and on the bed.

  : there is evidence of lack of good management at the property. our room had dirty laundry bags right outside our room for a whole day, for example. Personnel needs to be trained better to deal with the caliber of property and the price one pays per room per night.

  : The building, the view
  : It was renovated on the cheap and many things in my room including the closets, the bathroom fixtures etc were broken. The AC also was very undependable. The staff was minimal and overworked. Some were impolite.

  : It was a one night stay so we picked a day when weather would be nice for us to go to the pool. We were at the pool only an hour when they closed it because of a pump issue.

  : The location is beautiful and provides a very nice view of the Hudson.
  : The staff are incompetent. We had no house keeping service during our entire 5 day stayI even had to go to the front desk to get toilet paper. Thats after two days of calling the front desk, letting the phone ring endlessly without an answer, and explicitly requesting and being told my room would be cleaned twice. Room service website was broken, TV had no way to watch Netflix, and the staff were unprofessional at every interaction.
