  : Self contained studio flat, clean and a walking distance from l Villette. The reception staff were nice but dont expect above and beyond service.
  : The place feels quite unsafe for non locals, especially at night. Lots of homelessness/drugs

  : - I liked the location, the kitchenette with a fridge and own bathroom - but these were my booking criteria after all, so they sort of came at no surprise and how could I not like those? - Unlike other guests reviewing this place, I actually did like it that there was no cleaning service. I honestly prefer to handle my own mess by myself rather than have strangers touch and re-arrange my stuff. - I also "like" the sarcasm embedded in the hotel's name. Art must have been someone's name, I presume.
  : - BEWARE OF A EUR 150 DAMAGE DEPOSIT upon check-in- The hotel is located inside a multi-storey building, sort of a regular block of flats, in an ordinary city area. The facility inside looks a bit as if abandoned, or designated by the city to be demolished soon.- The room door wasn't sound-proof, there was a physical gap through which the light from the hallway could get in, let alone the sound of door slamming and people talking in the hallway.- The bathroom - so typical for all budget places - could benefit from some maintenance, to remove the rusty stains around the taps and fittings, and to speed up the drainage. This was NOT a bathtub you'd want to relax in.- When used as a shower, the hose was definitely too short, so I had to crouch a bit- The microwave oven looked as if it still remembered Franois Mitterrand - a yellowing plastic case, wiped out function labels, the turntable inside wouldn't turn, luckily the food boxes somehow did get heated somehow.- Only one wall socket available for use, hidden behind a nightstand, WTF?!- BUT ABOVE ALL, I HONESTLY HATED the surprise of the damage deposit of EUR 150 and the unsettling experience of waiting for my money back (at the hotel they will like to make your bank responsible for the delay... Even though it is quite possible for the bank to process it slowly, I would challenge that it would take about 8 days as was in my case) Taking a deposit is not uncommon, but it should have been clearly stated on the web page. Also, it should go together with the fair practice of releasing the guarantee upon check-out, either based on trust or on staff checking the room in the guest's presence, otherwise your chances during a dispute are close to zero. Yikes! A terrible experience that has just cost them one guest in the future. Take a good set of detailed pictures upon entering the room.
