Only yours Mykonos

  : We had a very nice October stay at Only Yours. The accommodation consists of three apartments on a plot of land right next to the sea, overviewing a bay and, in the evenings, offering very beautiful sunsets. A small beach is right down at the gate, other beaches are only a short walk away. The apartments are well equipped and very clean. The owners live at the back end of the garden and are very service oriented. Avery good experience all-in-all.
  : We visited Mykonos every now and then over a long period since 1985 and obviously Mykonos has changed quite a bit over time. Where we used to know Mykonos as a quiet, very friendly island where one could enjoy the great, typical Greek hospitality, the island over the years has turned into a posh island with a sort of would-be glamorous tourism over the last two decades. It struck us this time around how many Instagram type of tourists visit the island, keen on shooting perfect pictures of themselves, rather than showing any interest in the island, Greek society or Greek culture. Unfortunately this has resulted in Platis Gialos, the (sort of) village close to Only Yours, becoming a rather slick, un-inspiring beach resort where the great, typical Greek hospitality can not (no longer?) be found. People looking for the typical Greek quiet life and hospitality perhaps are better off visiting other, more laid back Greek islands than plastic Mykonos.
