  : The only 2 good things about this location was the cabin, overall and the propertys remote location.
  : The staff, with the exception of the woman who checked me in, was completely nonexistent. She was incredibly friendly and I left our encounter feeling great but it sure didnt last long. I asked about Sammies and was a little taken aback that the only restaurant within miles - the one ON the property was closing at 5 on a Friday night. so, we unloaded at the cabin and left to get supplies and saw the sign indicating Sammies was open 363 days a year and mapped out our plans for the next day. With rain it was about a 30 minute drive to a grocery store for supplies. after shopping & dinner we arrived back at the property after the welcome center and office were closed. Back at the cabin we quickly realized how cold it was and set out to turn on the heat which we couldnt figure out. We turned, what we thought were thermostats up to 70 and it didnt get warmer and slowly all the way up to 90 and nothing. So, I called the front office - the only number listed anywhere and no answer. many, many times I called. I left a voicemail explaining that we were really cold and couldnt figure out why the cabin wasnt heating up and asked someone to please call me. As I write this, its 48 hours after I left that voicemail, and no one has called me. So that restaurant that is advertised as being open 363 days a year isnt. The friendly clerk who checked me in probably could have mentioned that during our conversation about the hours. So we froze all night, we couldnt get ahold of anyone, the restaurant was closed and it wasnt Thanksgiving or Christmas, so we loaded up the car and left. In the mountain of paperwork I received at check in, there was no mention of what to do with the key. So we went and found warmth and food elsewhere. I called Booking.com and they didnt have much luck reaching anyone either.
