  : Very friendly, comfortable and welcoming.
  : It was all lovely, but if I was being fussy I would say that the dining chairs are remarkably uncomfortable when you first sit down! Feeling as if you are balancing on a spring. But we both settled and got use to it, enjoying a delicious dinner.

  : No heating in the room either night (it was autumn). When I asked for it to be resolved I was forgotten about. I got an apology the next day but that was a bit late

  : The County is on the Green in Aycliffe village with a large car park out back. It does get busy for meals, but parking wasn't a problem, The accomodation is nextdoor to the pub, only a very short stroll and umbrellas are provided if it's raining. Dinner in the evening was outstanding. I had the Panka coated Paneer which I thoroughly enjoyed. The Double Maxim beer on tap was excellent. My room was on the top floor so two flights of stairs. There was no window, only a skylight, but not an issue as there wasn't much to see. The bed was supremely comfortable with very good quality bed linen. There's a good selection of cooked breakfast options and I went for the full English which was very tasty. The County is now my number 1 choice if I'm staying in the area.
  : The full English breakfast portions were minimal with only one mushroom and one tomato half. I decided not to have the sausage or black pudding, but on reflection should have had the lot. I don't tend to be over hungry in the morning so wasn't particularly bothered.
