  : Didn't like breakfast and didn't like the location.
  : Breakfast was disappointing. Not a lot of items to pick for breakfast. Only had sweet items and coffee. The location of the place is next to railroad tracks, train passes by early in the morning so if you want to sleep and get a goodnight rest it would be impossible. I requested rooms to be next to each other and was not able to get the rooms together. Had to separate my family when I checked into the hotel.

  : Big, nice, clean room with a microwave and small fridge.The only issue is the noise. There was a wedding venue across the hotel that partied until 11AM. Also my room was right next to the entry to the bar so I can hear the door opening and closing until midnight.

  : The hotel opened in 2020, so much about the location is "new". Parking was simple. Walking Old Newhall was nice, a cinema close by and a few restaurants just around the corner. Cleaning crew were all friendly.
  : First impression came from the overpowering smell of Pinesol-type cleaning fluid. To us, that means there was a previous cleaning issue. Very “motel” feeling. When we arrived in the parking area, there was very loud music on which we thought was a guest blasting his car stereo only to learn it was the hotel. Late through each night we could hear men talking, even over the sound of the A/C unit. Our first night we had a cigarette odor upon entering room. Flooring warped (cork?) and buckles when you walk at night, plus it sticks to your clean feet. Noisy appliances (a/c and fridge). The room was lit at night by appliances (microwave and fridge) but we got the staff to turn off the fridge light after night 1. There are USB ports, but they provided no power. Train train is nearby and can be heard in the room. We had a slightly sagging mattress, but it wasn't too crazy. When we went to the breakfast area in the lobby for Day 3, we found most items gone, nobody at the desk, nobody attending the food. FYI, the hotel has some nice design decor, but the dominant theme of the Lexen is the old west, appropriate for the community, though it contributes to the sensation that this is an old, worn down motel.

  : AC couldn’t keep up with heat (there was a heatwave with temps 20° above normal). Some electric plugs in room didn’t work.
