: The views of mountains and sea were lovely. The pool looked pleasant and clean from the private deck above. It is proximate to Chania. The town 10 minutes away has an interesting cultural history plus a very good bakery called Red Jane.
: The property is by no means a Greek villa. It is contemporary - built within the last 20 years and located in a dilapidated neighborhood. Signage is so nondescript as to be nearly impossible to find at night much less by day as the small sign is obscured by another sign. Also, the pool is unheated. When we reached out to the person responsible for meeting us - who indicated in the communique - "to contact him if we needed anything" - never showed up and ignored our call. When we finally tracked him down - through the owner - by phone, Nikos tried to gaslight his responsibility and even yelled into the phone that it was too much of an inconvenience for him. (Apparently, he had scheduled a conflicting personal "appointment," even though we had communicated our arrival timing.) It was pouring rain that night and the GPS could not locate the property, accurately. Exasperated and harassed by his rudeness, we made it clear we would tell the owner that given his refusal to meet us and that the property could not be located, we would stay elsewhere, contact Booking.com, and request a full refund. Finally he sent a family member (45 min later from our initial unanswered call). The young woman was very nice - a complete contrast to Nikos. She appears to do the upkeep and cleaning for the place and does that part well. Her English was perfectly good even though the man tried to say she didn't understand the language. Interacting with Nikos was the worst "hospitality" experience we have ever encountered.
