  : A fantastic location overlooking the bay of Naples. It is on a height and our room was on the second floor had a great view and a small balcony. The hotel is beautiful with a large terrace bar on the roof and a restaurant, although we did not eat there. The Chiara area of Naples is relatively quiet and felt safe to walk around with lots of nice local shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. We travelled in a group of four adults so took taxis on longer distances to the historic centre, Duormo etc and we always took a taxi back in the evening. Taxis are affordable and plentiful. I would very much recommend the hotel as it was a relaxing retreat in the evening after a busy day sightseeing.
  : We had a room that had an adjoining door which we did not request. To accommodate the door when in use resulted in the room being very sparsely furnished with only one armchair and lots of empty space and no surfaces to put "stuff" on. It was eventually rectified after a couple of requests - it was a little bizarre however.

  : Location. noisy traffic no nearby amenities far from city attractions you need a taxi and there few taxis available in the evening so going back to the hotel was very difficult and a bit scary too.

  : The hotel was spotless, smelled amazing and nicely decorated. The rooms had an iron, ironing board and hairdryer. There was complimentary bottled water on arrival. The bed and pillows were one of the most comfortable Ive ever slept in. The room was clean, I especially loved the wooden floors and the designer shower gel and shampoo left me smelling amazing. There was a small jacuzzi and sun beds on the top floor which you had to book in advance.
  : The location was high up on a hill, there was no easy access to restaurants or cafes. Every time we wanted to go out to dinner or into town or along the seafront, the taxi was 20 euros each way, so even before youve had dinner, you are paying 40 euros (taxis are expensive and you need to check before you get in one how much they charge). If you are very young and very fit (and willing to walk down narrow dark alleys), you could hike it but I wouldnt risk it, Naples doesnt have the safest reputation. Because of the location, the hotel know they have a captive audience and boy, do they make the most of that. Everything, I mean everything is really expensive in the hotel. We paid 8 euros just to have ice delivered to the room for our drinks. The room service menu was spare to say the least, taking just a couple of the restaurant dishes, very unimaginative. We ate dinner at the hotel one night and I paid 75 euros for lobster only to get 4 nuggets of lobster and a pathetic julienne of vegetables that was so small it was like a garnish. Pretentious. Altogether we stayed 4 nights and managed to rack up a bill of 500 euros just on 3 breakfasts (30 euros per person) and dinner one night. I felt as if they shook me upside down until they were sure theyd rinsed me of all my change! There really was no reason it should have been so expensive to maintain a level of comfort at this hotel. We decided to order a pizza to the hotel one night and were told that this was not hotel policy to allow food delivery, so even if you wanted to save a few bucks, they shut that down too. The whole sordid experience spoilt this holiday for us, we had just had a wonderful time in Rome and wished we had stayed there instead. My advice to anyone wanting to visit Naples, avoid the Britannique and stay in a hotel near the town centre or better still, dont visit Naples, go somewhere nicer, like Greece where the food is better, people are nicer and you get what you pay for.
