  : The location is amazing. Close to all the nice places around Peak District. The road can get a bit busy during the day but this didn't affect our stay. At night it's very peaceful. We enjoyed setting off on walks to nearby places when we weren't feeling like driving. The kitchen is so well fitted with an amazing fridge/freezer and an even more amazing range cooker. It's a beautiful place really.
  : Small bits and bobs could use a bit of maintenance. It's nothing big though, but at times it felt like I was about to rip off the handle of the door or off the gate. Overall though it didn't affect our stay.

  : beautifully refurbished property. very well equipped, particularly in the kitchen. comfortable and spacious. very comfy beds.
  : very limited outside space at the rear, and could have be fitted from a couple of folding chairs to enjoy the cooler evening air.parking was sufficient but the access road was very narrow.needs a blind in the kitchen as it is impossible to stand at the kitchen sink of a morning without being completely blinded by the sun.side tables in the lounge were insufficient, and would benefit from a coffee table.

  : Excellent location, both in regards of travelling around the Peak District & the view looking out at Rowsley Wood. The cottage was comfortable, warm and had everything you needed supplied. Although we didnt use it the cooker in the kitchen is amazing if you intend to cook in.
  : The cottage could have been a bit cleaner - cobwebs around a lot of the windows, kitchen & bathroom spring to mind, and from a lot of the beams & main mirror. Front garden was a mess and hadnt been looked after for several months, old Xmas tree still there - being a gardener myself it looked very tired.Parking was a problem with my 4x4 - some days couldnt get a space out the front. The on site parking is accessed via a narrow ginnel where the neighbours park and it took countless manoeuvres to get passed, then into the bay.

  : The cottage was very comfortable for the 4 of us plus one four legged family member and had everything we needed. The beds were particularly comfortable. The welcome pack was a nice touch too. The location was great with easy access to good walking and sightseeing locations by foot or car. We visited the Peak Railway, Crich Tram Village, Matlock and Bakewell and walked some of the Monsal Trail but there are a lot of places to go in the area and many dog friendly attractions. The local pub and the shopping village were very handy within walking distance for food and drinks. Such a shame the old mill and convenience store in the village have closed though but the nearest convenience store is only 5 minutes away by car.
  : Getting to the parking space at the back of the property was a bit tight at times with other cars parked in the roadway and needed our wing mirrors pulled in. Parking at the front on the road is possible but busy for the houses. Directly in front on the cottage is single yellow line. Bedroom 2 is twin bedded and quite small with room for just three small bedside table drawers and a hook rail on the wall with 8 hooks. This could have been an issue if we were staying longer. Whilst the property is dog friendly the welcome book does ask that they do not go upstairs or on the furniture. The outside space isn't great for dogs but there is a good footpath opposite the property for doggy toilet trips.
