  : Bed and pillow were very comfortable. The hotel is located in a good neighborhood (Geistenbeck). There is a bus-stop nearby that takes to central Rheydt. The owner of the hotel is very friendly and helpful, and the maid is also friendly and hard-working. Payment was easy and simple. The hotel was clean, and my room was clean and had everything I needed and more. There is also a Lidl and an Aldi 15 minutes walk to the south near Odenkirchen. There was also a beautiful German festival (St. Josef's Festival) near the hotel at the edge of Geistenbeck, there was amazing food, beer, and music, it was my favorite part of the stay, but this only occurs for a few days at the start of June.
  : Below are just personal opinions (They didn't affect my overall score for the hotel): 1- I came to Rheydt/Monchengladbach because I thought it would be a nice city at the edge of the Rhine-Ruhr. Wrong choice. It is a bad city, walking around I felt like I was in Turkey or Syria. Good luck finding food that isn't Kebab or "Pizza". There is nothing to do in this city except take the train to Dusseldorf and spend the day there, or take the buses to the countryside and walk around the small villages (I really liked the countryside). 2- The hotel is not Native owned or operated. I saw in the pictures online that there was a blonde lady working at reception, so I booked. But during my stay, I didn't see any Native Germans working here, which is disappointing because I was hoping to have a real German experience and to talk to Native Germans.

  : There are a few things to really like - the low price, the availability of a large parking and the kindness and efficiency of the owner and staff. The staff make up for many of the shortcomings of the property, but overall the experience is average.
  : In all fairness, my comments relate to only the building we were at and the room we were assigned. The property is not really a hotel, it is a place for workers on business trips to spend the night. There is no breakfast. The beds are of very small size, The towels are clean, but old and flimsy. The pillows are ridiculously large and of very low quality. One per person. Two standard pillows, even of the same low quality, would serve much better. There is a fridge in the room, but it is empty and noisy, better be switched off. The electric kettle was not working. The espresso machine was practically not working as well, as it leaked from each imaginable and unimaginable crack. The floor had been swept hastily and there was dirt and dust on it.
