  : Location. Villagers were friendly.
  : We arrived on time at the cottage as stated, cleaners had just arrived, the accommodation was not ready, we were asked to come back an hour later, when we arrived at the cottage a second time at about 4:15pm the cottage wasnt cleaned to a good standard, the carpets were stained throughout even going up the stairs on to the landing, carpets are in need of a deep clean - maintained or even replaced ?? - especially in such a small property that allows pets! Also the floors in the toilet, kitchen and bedrooms need a deep clean, there are dirt/stain build up in corners of the floors, skirting boards. The walls have cracks in the hall landing, walls have marks in the rooms upstairs and downstairs, ceiling light fittings need renewing in fact the whole interior of the cottage is very tired. Lighting in the second bedroom has burn marks/melted plastic holes in the lamp shade, it needs replacing, the plug socket on wall does not work! The mains electrics for the whole property havent been checked and maintained for several years (since 2014??) and none of the appliances have been PAT tested !!! there wasnt even a vacuum cleaner or mop and bucket, you had no way of cleaning, oil radiators x 2 in bedrooms, only one was working!! the property had a damp smell in the living room, the second bedroom and toilet. The toilet brush was unhygienic and had remaining excrement on the brush - it needs replacing, the handle to the window above the shower is taped up, it needs to be replaced. The toilet surrounds were not cleaned correctly, slugs were living behind the u bend! The smell in the property was unpleasant for several days, we had to open all the windows for a couple of hours a day in the morning and afternoon in order to air property. Facilities were very basic. Generally the cottage could do with decorating, new carpets, curtains etc as well as an updated welcome pack. Wood burner needs fixing doesnt burn efficiently. TV needs updating it glitches.
