Beechlawn Hotel

Pleasant

: A warm welcome from the receptionist. Easy access to Belfast city centre. A large room and a comfortable bed.
: Although labelled as a 'superior room' there were certain things lacking. E.g no glasses for the water provided or for mouthwash, no disposal bags for feminine products, no tissues. The description 'The restaurant offers an intimate atmosphere for evening dining, and has a varied menu' was completely misleading as it was neither an 'intimate atmosphere' nor 'varied menu'. In fact it was a very ordinary selection. Worst of all was the almost total indifference shown to us by the waitress. Very disappointing.

: Well sited and nice staff
: Unfortunately, I got very, very little sleep. I was situated very near overhead room 244 of the function room, and I rang down at 12 pm to see when the event was finishing, and they said 1am I said I couldn't sleep with all the noise. The event finished, and then there must have been folk staying over as there was noise in the corridor and rooms till .4.30 am.If the hotel is having functions, they should try and put folk at the event near the function room and others away from it. I have stayed here before, and I never encountered this, and I am supposed to be working here today exhausted.

Poor
Traveller Type: young couple
: The staff were friendly and as helpful as could be.
: The room was cold and I was told the other guest complained the rooms were too hot so the heating was turned off for the entire hotel, which made no sense because the rads could be turned off in each individual room so to turn the heating off for everyone else was absurd. The lady at reception was very nice about it and got us an electric heater but it wasnt very effective in heating the room. You also had to walk through restaurant to get to your room which was a big inconvenience especially with your luggage , scooting by people while they are eating there dinner. The glasses and cutlery were not very clean at all and we waited 1 hour and 20 mins for food in the restaurant, and we only ordered a burger and pasta because we got there so late and wanted to head into the city for few hours.
