  : The suite is comfortable and the hotel situated in the centre of tourist activities. Everything is within walking distance, including restaurants. Henrique is a kind and genuine host. The small details that remind us of Fernando Pessoa were awesome, e.g newspapers dated 1944 and several books of that time. Travel back in history, it's a small gem!
  : For those who have light sleep, the noise at night might be too much. But you get so exhausted on exploring during the day, that you will probably fall asleep irrespective of any noise.

  : We love the location the Carmo is a great plaza top restaurants for all meals. Our room had en suite bathroom and two windows with Julliet balcony opened on the square. Because the hills to the Carmo are steep, you come up the street, turn to the entryway which enters onto the first floor w ouch become the second floor walking down the hall to the room. No stairs. The place is indeed quirky and decorated with artifacts of the famous poet. Our bed was comfortable and shower good, we were shown the sitting room for making coffee if we wished and coming in at night always had a little glass of port with the poet mannequin for fun. Henrique helped is via whats app about check in so we would meet hum ad generally the hotel is unoccupied by staff and only three rooms are in use. Other rooms share a hall bath. That would not have been as good for us. He also arranged a taxi for us super early. We god a bargain on our room rate and loved the location.
  : Its a little dark in halls and rooms. Portugal is very aware of saving energy, the faucets are timed for example. We could have used some more light in a dark bathroom and on the room itself. Hall lights had on demand timers which was good. However we were there four days and had same towels, basically like our own home; perhaps we could have asked him, just not sure.
