  : The location is great and the view onto the Beestenmarkt was lovely.
  : I booked a double room with my partner but we were given a twin room. Upon inquiring at reception, we were told that the hotel does not have any double rooms but only twin rooms. I find that rather difficult to believe. Would've liked to receive the room I actually booked.

  : I had used this Hotel in a previous visit and I had loved the wonderful location and I found the room convenient enough even though was very outdated and in desperate need of renovations. It was quaint to a point. Leiden is worth a visit. Beautiful old town full of life, with barely any tourists!
  : This time, for my second visit to Leiden, I tried to book a different Hotel, but they were all full. My second stay at the Mayflower was quite unpleasant. We needed 2 rooms. We didn't mind the lack of elevator and the extremely narrow spiral stairs but my son's room was a disaster. It reeked of sewage. He had to close the bathroom door and come to our room to shower. The bigger room was not too bad, even though it was so outdated. Unfortunately, we felt that the rooms weren't clean enough to walk barefoot on them. AND It was VERY overpriced. You pay for location, nothing else. I don't recommend this hotel until it gets fully renovated.

  : Great location within the centre of the old town. Plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants right outside the front door. Easy walking distance to all Leiden attractions. Convenient parking nearby at Parkeergarage Lammermarkt.
  : We were given a manky room right at the back of the hotel in a separate building facing Sint Aagtenstraat. The access to these rooms is via a grubby stairwell and rooftop area. The room was poorly maintained e.g. paint peeling, cracked and dirty showerhead (from old age), dirty balcony and balcony furniture. The two chairs inside were well past their use-by-date with the springs in the chairs collapsed and uncomfortable. Based on other reviews I can only speculate that we were given the cheap spill-over rooms in the back.
