  : A fantastic location in beautiful grounds.Good sized room.Easy to park.Decent breakfast.
  : We were told about the building work prior to our stay but after the booking was made, but we were basically staying in a building site.The hotel will be amazing once the work has been completed but on our way to breakfast we had to move stepladders so we could pass, I think the work is far too extensive to enable the hotel to function. We stayed in the outer building which was fine but that also needs updating- the room was dated and the carpet heavily stained, the bin in the bathroom had not been emptied let alone cleaned before our arrival- the hairdryer didn't work, no proper shower just a shower head to hold over yourself in the bath, the toilet roll holder was broken.The man on reception was rude.

  : The restaurant had a great view and the staff accommodating and the set menu was good value. However the hotel is under major building works when we visited, mid July 2023 and the overall condition was very poor, so I would suggest stay some where else until the works are finished......
  : We arrived in mid July 2023, the hotel is a building site, dust every where, noise from the works, our room was unpainted, no TV, but we did have a socket sticking out of the wall and hanging cable! The wall backing onto the corridor is paper thin, you can hear people in the room opposite! The door to the room barely locked and would not stay closed by itself. Newly fitted room, but the hotel should have been open due to the works that are on going. We had a road view room and the road is busy and noisy, even with new double glazing, so best to avoid.....

  : The breakfast was good. But that is all.
  : Very DisappointedBooked for three nights via booking.com. No mention of ongoing building works on there or the hotels own website. On arrival the place looked so much like a building site we werent sure it was even open but it is. Reception advised us the builders dont work over the weekend and showed us a room and the dining area. If we could have stayed elsewhere we would and in fairness were offered a refund. However the town was pretty booked up due to a big cycling event. So we checked in. Wires hanging out of the ceilings and no space inside to sit and relax in other than one of the dining areas. Room was small and smelt damp but was otherwise clean and bed was ok. Buffet breakfast was good but we didnt eat here for dinner so cant comment on that. Sadly the builders do work weekends and showed up at 7am Saturday with their power tools! Took Sunday off but back at 7am Monday - no chance of a relaxing lie in. The booking also stated there were three Tesla electric car charging points on site. There are none. Receptionist looked for them and eventually we were shown to an outdoor domestic socket. The socket was in the middle of a flowerbed so would not be useable without an extension lead. Luckily we had one and were able to charge the car by leaving it plugged in for 2 days. We also travel with a small dog and were charged 15 a night extra. Never been charged that much and bearing in mind the state of the place a bit of a cheek really. No doggie extras were supplied - not that we expect them but wondered if that accounted for the cost. No dog poo bins on site - so the builders skip came in handy for something. Im sure itll be lovely when its finished but in the meantime Id avoid it.

  : Is having major building work done. We were not advised in advance and we nearly passed the hotel thinking it was a building site. The breakfast was very nice though and so were the staff.
