  : Warm welcome, really lovely staff, excellent breakfast, lovely atmosphere.
  : Loft room meant you could only stand on one side, but made it cosy so not a complaint.

  : We liked where it was. We liked that it was clean.
  : We had booked a king room but we were given a double. When I queried this with hotel they said it was a king room as it had a king sized bed! The staff were not that friendly. The breakfast hot offer was ok but nothing special. The cold offering was very poor - Weetabix, Rice Crispies or Cornflakes. No Muesli, no yogurt, no croissants and no fruit salad although there was a dish with apples and pears in it. They ran out of brown toast. When we arrived for breakfast it sounded like there was a sense of humour failure in the kitchen so that might be why the waitress never cracked a smile. When we were given our receipt I did not look at initially but when I did it was for a different couple who had stayed two nights. Cost of a glass of wine was expensive. Our room was ok but little surface space to put our bits and pieces on and the bathroom had a very small basin with only one shelf for toiletries. The shower was small and I reckon if you were above 15 stone you would have struggled to get in.

  : All the staff were really helpful and friendly. The food was excellent at both dinner and breakfast, although the choice of cereals, fruit etc at breakfast was rather limited. Our room was very attractively decorated and the decor was interesting throughout the pub.
  : Our room was rather small and the shower compartment was very small. Having to go outside to get from the bar area to the bedrooms (accessed via an exterior flight of stairs) was a bit inconvenient. I guess this is a matter of personal taste, but we found the beds very hard.
