  : Location was good for my needs - although the A590 was busy, however I had a room at the rear of the hotel Staff were attentive and helpful
  : Hotel was shabby and in need of a makeover refurbishmentCarpet mat at bar entrance was dirty with debris and creased up - like it both the 2 days, so was it ever hoovered??Bar entrance was hazardous with a wheelchair ramp (no problem), with a heavy table umbrella base plonked on one corner of it, to hold it down - which was dangerous in the dark and you could easily trip over it !!! Very bizarreTables sticky, in bar areaStale food smells in bar area, when you came down to breakfastRoom had frayed carpet strands at skirting boards and there were tassles of loose carpet, bathroom had loose floor tiles and cracked grouting, when you stood on the floor tiles, they moved and the edges were sharp. Bathroom fittings were dated, towel rail wasn't heated up.Room needed re-decorating and a tidy upBBC1 wouldn't work on the TV, although all the other channels were fineBreakfast was a buffet affair, with fairly budget food (tinned tomatoes), mass cooked and left in 'bain-marie' to keep warmHotel was overpriced for what it was, I thoughtI didn't eat in the evenings, but ate with friends at the nearby White Hart in Bouth which was an excellent country village pub

  : Breakfast was self service, but staff regularly checked/refreshed cooked items. Good selection to choose from. A decent selection of beverages in bar. Bedroom and bathroom were both spacious, and well equipped. Location was ideal for Steam Railway, Windermere cruises, Lakeland Motor Museum, and well situated for trips out to other areas of the Lakes. All staff I encountered were friendly and helpful.
  : My only gripe was the key code for late access to the main entrance. I couldn’t get it to work, but it worked fine on two other side doors. This could have been a big problem if there was only one entrance, as on two occasions I had to use one of the side entrances to get in!

  : Actually the hotel was comfortable, friendly and clean with nice towels. It’s just that there were too many hiccups. Like the rusty old shelf unit in an otherwise tidy shower cubical etc. But more than anything it’s the location next too a busy road that generates lots of noise.
