  : The cottage was very well appointed and comfortable with a standard of decoration and facilities you don't usually find in a holiday let. The sofa and the bed were both really comfy and the house was spotlessly clean and very cosy. The owner was friendly and left us a bottle of wine and welcome note. The location is stunning, beautiful gardens and a lovely country walk in to Coniston. Although check out is usually 9am we were able to stay later as there were no new guests arriving that morning so we were able to take our time instead of rushing.
  : The loo needs fixing as it is sitting loose on the floor tiles and moves around a lot when you sit on it which is a bit disconcerting. On departure there was a note stuck to the front door with a long list of instructions on how to leave the cottage. We had to clear out the ashes from the wood burning stove, put all the rubbish outside in the bins, and strip the bed. We were asked to put the sheets and towels in a laundry bag which we couldn't find. Although on this occasion we didn't have to leave by 9am I think all of this work would have been a bit much for a 9am departure. Although I am always very happy to leave any place clean and tidy I wouldn't expect to have to strip the bed or clear out the wood burner, or put the rubbish in the bins outside. We had a lovely time and this sort of left a bit of a sour taste at the end of a very enjoyable stay.
