  : The unit was true to the online photos - once we were actually in the unit we booked. no check in procedure other than trying to phone the owners (if you have a phone, I had to loan mine to another renter) on arrival. our unit was still occupied (?) so they first tried to move us to a TINY studio which I refused and then to another property a few blocks away without a separate bedroom. I had to insist we get the unit we saw online. we had an extra person unexpectedly which I did tell the owner about on arrival. we thought this would work as we had a one bedroom with a sofa bed rented. we paid the extra$ but should have been given a refund on our first night. they said booking.com overbooked them and then with the airlines refusing boarding some people stayed longer. fine, then move them to the less desirable unit. they felt it was acceptable to assign units on arrival regardless of what you booked.

  : There was no breakfast. The location was nice.
  : The house smelled musty. Although the bed was comfortable the bedroom smelled like mold. The tub and shower curtain were dirty so I cleaned the tub and bought a new shower curtain.

  : Everything. Roaches everywhere. No air conditioning, iron or hairdryer as advertised. 2 out of 3 light bulbs missing in livingroom and bedroom ceiling fixtures. Television doesn't work. Dining room ceiling fan doesn't work. Cleaning fee that is charged is a joke. Dusty and dirty. Floors need mopping. The bottom of my slippers were filthy and black on departure.I don't know how Booking.com can offer this rental on their platform.

  : I feel like it was a classic bait and switch situation. The day I phoned when I was in Hawaii, I was told that the property I booked was not available. The property was substituted for another one. The different property was in a basement suite. The inside was filthy (mold in tub and on shower curtain, dead insects and grime not swept up in bathroom, toilet filthy,dead insects and grime on fridge, even garbage can not emptied before our arrival, the outside was equally dirty with garbage bags piled up outside in driveway (9 bags). I can't imagine why we were charged a cleaning fee when the place was grotesquely filthy when we arrived. The number one complaint we had was the cleanliness and I don't review this lightly. This is the first time in all of my travels with booking.com that I have given a negative review and that is a lot of properties in many varied locations.

  : The IDEA that we would be able to stay for the day and keep items cool before our flight off the island. We selected the rental for A/C there was no A/C or ventilation.

No A/C but A/C was advertised with A/C on Booking.comAlso not advertised was that it is a construction zone in progress inside.Also not advertised that the rental had no ventilation and is moldy due to poor construction.Also noted that the smoke alarms have been decommissioned and a very big safety item for anyone. No fire extinguisher 1/2 used bar of soap to use if one wanted to shower.Light bulbs missingSomeone’s insulin medicine open and left at the front door.Foot prints left on the ottomanTop of fridge had 1/8 dust and garbage on top.Bottom line… I work in the construction industry and have for 30 years. I can handle dust and debris. This place was filthy. I paid $600 dollars to get away from this place. I couldn’t bring myself to even sit on the couch. I feel the owner needs to finish the construction of their project and hire a professional cleaner. The pictures on booking don’t show the real picture. I have many and am happy to share if necessary. I feel that this was misrepresented. $600 might help finish the paint job.
