Indian Rocks Home with Game Room Walk to Beach!

  : Quite liked the house itself, the layout etc. The kids liked the fact there was ping pong and a basketball game in the basement although the air hockey game is on its last legs. I liked sitting on the balcony having a coffee and watching the pelicans fish.
  : The location of the house is not great. 10 mins walk from the beach, across a busy road and then all the way down 20th ave. The way it was sold, it sounded MUCH closer to the beach. Also, the beach itself is pretty lifeless. If you want to eat, drink, do any activities, you need to take everything yourself. There is no commercial activity on the beach at all. All the local bars and restaurants are 'rough'...like, bikers and the lowest common denominators in society. The establishments cater accordingly...there is only one restaurant in walking distance that I would ever go to again (that being Guppys), the others are all awful. It looks like there is a roof terrace on top of the house but the owners have stopped you getting to it. There are also more bedrooms that they have sealed off, which is a bit eerie. The house has been decorated on the cheap; the wooden flooring is really tacky, and everything has been done on a shoestring budget. For the price we paid ($6k for a week) it was not of sufficient quality. The kettle and toaster are laughably small. Honestly smaller than my hand - I took photos but it won't let me attached them. They literally bought the cheapest of everything. You will NEED a car if you rent this house. Big mistake if you turn up from the airport in an uber. You will need to drive to get to Clearwater (20 min drive) to where the action is. Clearwater is great - fun beach with lots going on, great restaurants, fun activities for the family. Looking back, I wish we booked in Clearwater in the first place - Indian Rocks is the poor end of town.
