: Superb public rooms. The staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. The Housekeeping Staff even noticed that it was my elderly husband's birthday and left a card and chocolates in our room. How kind! Staff carried our suitcase up and down the stairs. Disabled parking was easy to use and had good access to the hotel. The dinners were lovely and the staff always professional and efficient. Staff at Breakfast cleared the tables efficiently, the service was quick and the food tasty. The view from the hotel and our room was spectacular. The approach to the hotel was beautiful. We felt rested and relaxed in the lovely surroundings.
: Our room was very nice but the bathroom needed updating. the bath was difficult to deal with, even a young person can slip! A shower only or a separate shower would be better. We appreciated that the conversion to ensuite was done well and attention to detail was paid, e.g. running the complete cornice round. The room and bathroom were serviced well, however.Just one point, a variety of fruit at Breakfast would be good. The bowl of grapefruit was barely touched. Most hotels now offer more choice or do not serve grapefruit. This is not a criticism, just an advisory. Many of your clientele, especially in the week, will be on a common medication that forbids grapefruit as it inhibits the working of the medicines.

: Loved the grounds and traditional ambience of the main building . Breakfast was good too.
: Our room looked like the carpets hadn’t been hoovered properly.

Disappointing
Traveller Type: young couple
: the grounds and building were nice, staff friendly apart from being ignored for over 10 minutes when getting served at the bar.
: service very slow probably due to a wedding on at the time, food very expensive (£30 for two courses) for very little and mediocre taste, all breakfast items probably the cheapest available including tinned chopped tomatoes and watered down orange/apple juice. cobwebs including spiders in room, over the windows and light shades, graffiti on back of bathroom door. When checking out I was given the bill to pay and noticed two payments for gratuities at £6.95, this was for service at lunch and dinner, basically £13.90 for tipping the waitress/waiter!
