SHOREWOOD - 4th Floor - Fantastic Views of Pool & Ocean - Best Beach Location

  : Having the beach in view from our balcony is the most important thing to us. Although many yards away, the ocean was well in view from our unit on the second floor, close enough to also be heard. Pleasant, wide beach. Can ride bikes on it when the tide is out. (The available sand is too soft for bikes when the tide is in.)Nice balconies. The plants near the balconies drew many butterflies, some hummingbirds, and a hawk. Landscape well managed. The unit was clean and pleasant, had a good layout, and had all the kitchen items we needed. There were board games in the cabinet, but we didn't get around to using them. Shops, ice cream, a few restaurants, and bike rental are in walking distance (younger kids would need supervision to cross streets). The other couple enjoyed the pool, and the two of us enjoyed the beach. Our contact for the property was very informative, gracious and helpful by phone. All 4 of us want to thank William for his helpfulness and the unit we had.
  : Nothing that we "didn't like." Hoped to play pickleball, but didn't see any courts nearby - didn't ask about it, maybe there was something close, but all we saw was in Sea Pines. Shuffleboard would be a nice addition, but not sure how the equipment could be managed. The email with check-in information gave a Forest Beach Drive address, plus an Ocean One unit address which we thought was probably a street or section within the property. It would have helped to inform that the property sign actually says "Ocean One", not "Beach Front Villas" like we booked. This caused us to pass the property once, but it didn't take long to figure it out and go back.
