  : We have stayed at the Blue Bell before and found that the high standard we experienced the first time had been maintained. The food was as good as before and served in lovely surroundings. Set in a lovely village in quiet surroundings it is the perfect place to stay.
  : Sadly, the staff working in the evening (25/6/24) badly let the whole place down. They paid minimal attention to the guests preferring to clown around with each other instead and thus offering very poor service. Some guests complained but it did not have any effect. We had to wait more than twenty minutes to be served two scoops of ice cream. One of the staff started closing down for the night before we had even been served our sweet. Pity if we had wanted a coffee. Contrast this with the breakfast staff who couldn't be more friendly, helpful and efficient. We like the Blue Bell but are now in two minds whether we would go back or not.

  : Cleaning was well below what I would have expected. Thick dust in the bedroom, black mould all round the shower, dirty sink, outside tables always filthy.

  : The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was well stocked and the beer well kept.
  : The bathroom was not clean. There was black mould all round the shower. We did not enjoy the food - we felt it was heavy and overcooked. Portions are substantial, but we prioritise quality over quantity.

  : Room was super hot (a particularly hot day and night) and the shower was a bit of a tight fit.

  : Nice big room, big bed and bathroom, though the shower cubicle was very small and the tap system was too big for such a small space. I would say those fancy 'Victorian' taps do not actually work as well as they should. Dinner was very nice. Plenty of free parking.
  : We weren't impressed with the breakfast system. The idea of pre-ordering breakfast the night before was a little bit strange and the form we had to fill in was confusing. In the morning the staff member did her best. However, coffee was too weak and watery.
