  : We wanted a couple of nights somewhere nice to celebrate our 27th Anniversary with the dog and be positioned to drive into Ripon or Harrogate without paying City prices.. The location was great in a small quiet village combining well its history and modern improvements. Although there are no other village amenities , this wasn't a problem for us as all we wanted was pleasant views to walk the dog and the village has these in abundance with some lovely cottages converted from the original shops and services. At the Oak Tree Inn We liked the friendly staff , especially towards our little dog who lapped up the attention and enjoyed the dog cushion they gave him in the beer garden. The beer garden itself was very nice and clean and a great suntrap in the afternoon. The evening meals were delicious and I recommend the Steak and ale pie with a nice pint of Theakstons. The room was larger than expected and quaint and no complaints.

  : The room was lovely really comfortable bed. The chef and his wife were lovely really friendly and the lady serving breakfast was lovely. The spa bath was a joy everyone needs a spa bath they ate great. Breakfast was lovely and we asked the chef if he could put us up a cheese board to take upstairs and nothing was to much trouble had a nice cheese board in our room.

  : Looked good from outsideStaff friendlyEnglish breakfast good but black pudding so hard I nearly broke my teeth. No other choice or fruit or anything really
  : No cleaning being done even in general areas, the stair carpet was covered in dirt, even though there was a party the night we arrived there was a dirty entrance way.The bedroom was cold on arrival, attention to the few rooms they have is desperately needed. The jacuzzi bath was fine but the towel rail hadnt been turned on to heat the bathroom. What is the point of a bathroom so small having underfloor heating if the rest is shabby. No robes no chocolates as advertised.Dinner was poor, pie very very salty, twice cooked cheese souffl over cooked
