: The place is very nicely located in front of a church in Santamaria Orlea, a village just outside Hateg. It is a great hub for visiting all the tourist attractions in the area, as they are in proximity. The area is nice as you can take a walk towards Hateg or towards the mountains, biking makes it easier. The property has big big garden with flowers and trees. It is very attractive for kids based on the space and also the many toys lying around, toys of the owners kids. There was a cute kitten running around and playing as well. The rooms are in an additional building to what seems the main historical one, lined up one after the other. The rooms are interestingly furbished and decorated and we found good comfort. The accommodation (no meal included, so without breakfast) was quite cheap for the quality at 126 ron - it is true that the area is cheaper than others, perhaps also because there are tens of places. Room has fridge and sink. There are also options for sauna and jacuzzi, we did not ask, we were not told. The food was basic but generally OK, tasty. The service was ok. The breakfast has multiple options combining modern and traditional, decent prices and sizes.
: On areas to improve, the food menu is very basic and there are imbalances in the prices. The price for polenta with cheese and sour cream was ok at 20 ron, but 18 ron for a soup is too much considering general prices. Price of beer and water was ok, the palinka was expensive at 10 ron for 50 ml. There seemed to be only cash payment, supporting card payments is a must these days, we just happened to have enough cash. We had 2 small unpleasant incidents with the property dog, as he pissed on the armchair leg while I was sitting on it and the evening before he rubbed his neck dirty with poop on my leg (accidental, but very unpleasant - found no point to inform the owners about it and spend more time on this). There is a bit of noise from the main road to Petrosani/Oltenia just nearby. They can be more aware there is a pandemy, by staff serving food wearing masks and by having relevant signage and also dysinfectant available - it costs money and effort, but shows awareness and care for guests.
