  : Booking.com is nagging me to review, so here it is: Too much street noise, lots of traffic, some at 50 mph. It's on Main Street, but far enough from the downtown stop signs that people can haul ass. Lots of folks in GV apparently like to leave the snow tires on their pickups year round, increasing the noise level. Tremendous activity in the neighborhood (it's very close to downtown) starting before 8am, including leaf blowers. This older place is not well soundproofed, and it likely wouldn't be cheap for the owner to fix that. We were in one of 2 units closest to the street, practically at the sidewalk. I'm sure this made the noise worse for our unit, but it's not that much further away from Main St in the units further back on the property. It is hard to believe that the high rating/glowing reviews are all genuine. For summertime stays, the A/C is in the living room, so the bedroom door has to stay open to the living room (because opening the window would be nuts), providing even less barrier to street noise. I will never again travel without my white noise generator. Just crazy to pay nearly $200/night for the experience, but the place stays booked pretty well. I had tried to get a room there on 2 previous trips, but units with 2 beds were already booked. The noise and A/C situation must not bother a lot of people, but now I know that this place is not for me. However, except for the street noise, it's charming.
