  : Most staff was incredibly helpful, kind and friendly! They fostered connections through most of the hostel guests. The staff and guest relationships and culture were the entire reason to stay here.
  : No security, no hot water, not enough blankets, rotting food in kitchen, cash only, the least comfortable bed, showers look like theyve not been cleaned in ages. I am concerned regarding the treatment of staff from management; only AC in guest rooms not staff rooms, hours worked, expectations ect. There were a number of instances where a STAFF was bullying GUESTS and creating a hostile environment for guests. When staff became aware, cliques emerged and it was up to other guests to include and stand up for said guest. This goes to say that this behaviour and culture quickly diminishes the only thing I enjoyed about this hostel. Lastly, we found out that multiple doors are unlocked with the same keys rendering safety and privacy null in these dorms.

  : Loved the staff and the kitchen facilities. The roof top terrace offered great opportunities to mingle with fellow travels and had great views of the sunrise and sunsets.
  : The shower was really small and had a leaky shower head that had bad water pressure. I also hated the squeaky door handles on the dorm and bathroom doors. It made being quiet hard during early and late hours of the day.

  : A clean and nice hostel with a good location. Good WIFI. Walking distance to the beach and the bus stop (for taking the bus to Taormina or to the airport). Helpful staff.
  : There were no AC in the room, which made it very hot during the night (it was around 32 degrees when I was there). However, the fan worked pretty well. Not a very social hostel, so not the best place if you want to meet other travelers and socialize.

  : All I can say is WOW! Gianni backpackers is truly a place of extremes. On the one hand, the vibes = incredible. Hats off to Klo, Megan, Anouk and the rest of the team who work at Gianni backpackers and make the questionable experience so enjoyable. Instantly friendly, superb source of local information and keen to laugh these girls had it all! The perfect hosts, their company was a highlight of the stay.
  : As for the actual hostel itself. The kitchen while clean (go girls) is very pokey and only one person can effectively use it at a time, the beds are fair, the electricity (and therefore aircon) is temperamental at best and the lockers don't actually lock. It "feels like" (as I have no way to verify) that the owner has cut a lot of corners.
