  : Flirsch is a little way from St Anton but has a good road to town and the free ski bus stops about 60m away from the front door of Haus Dorfschmied and runs every 15 minutes or so both in the morning and the afternoon and takes about 19 minutes to get to town. (Number 8 if you are interested, stops at the Nasserein cable car, if you want the other end of town for the Galzig and the Rendl, change to the number 9 at Terminal Ost. The number 9 waits for the number 8 to get there so you don't miss it, I'm not sure they would bother in the UK). The apartment building has free parking and in the building next door there is a small convenience shop that sells pretty much everything you would need. You can get bread delivered every morning if you wish. You must check the opening times though, especially if you stay Christmas week. The lady that runs Haus Dorfshcmied was also very flexible about payment. We paid our deposit (about 25%ish) through Booking.com about 11 months in advance and she only took the balance after we had been there for two days. Oh, and she wasn't too bothered about us arriving an hour early either. There are a couple of bar/restaurants in Flirsch a shortish walk away but we did not use them as we were too tired (we took kids, dogs can stay too). Don't be worried about driving there, if you have winter or snow tyres (check the rules for whichever countries you driving through) you shouldn't have any problems unless the snowfall is extreme. They are very good at keeping the roads clear, even in the smaller villages. These apartments also provide a boot/ski room and I think they also have a locker at the one of the cable cars in town but can't be certain. We rented storage at the place where we hired our skis and never had to carry them back and forth or wear our ski boots on the bus. It was only a couple of Euros a day and well worth it.
  : We didn't know we had to supply our own toilet paper, this may not actually be the case but we couldn't find the proprietor when we discovered there wasn't much so we just went next door and bought some. Friends we travelled with had to do the same.... oops. Also the same with dish washing liquid etc. We found it very warm at night as the duvets are so thick, however some may find this OK. The snow ploughs! Not the fault at all of Haus Dorfschmied but they start at about 5 a.m. and are very loud. Either drink a lot or take some ear plugs. Not necessary something we did not like but if you are seriously into apres ski, the last free bus back is about 18:04 so start early, we had kids so it didn't really matter to us. Could be an issue for others, there is a night bus but you have to pay.
