  : Loved the vibe of the place! Friendly staff, lovely porch to hang out in.
  : It would be great to have a nightstand next to the bed and some way to charge things in the room. I had to unplug the AC and the floor lamp to charge both my phone and hearing aids in the closet.

  : I liked the location.
  : The manager is a liar and a thief. She made of falsehoods about me 3 times because the first lies she told were not believable, so she had to make up a third set of lies. This resulted in me not being able to extend my stay. This same manager , however, used my credit card to book and charge me for a third day on booking.com. Which caused me to have to notify my bank of fraudulent charges, the immediate cancelation of my credit card, and its replacement a few days later. Few the next 2 weeks, in my communications with the owner of the Hostel, Brenna, she only repeated to me the manager's lies and added a few more. She was insulting and threatening to me. I therefore notified my attorney of this abuse and fraud and very quickly thereafter, Brenna refunded my money. All she had to do is look at my 2 nights stay to see that I was charged for 3 night. As most of their staff are volunteers, and only work there for one month, the manager and owner try to blame them for the mistakes, when in reality, it is the manager who is doing the lying and thieving. In my case, it was male elder abuse. The name of the Hostel should be changed to the Eugene Hostile. I hate what they did to me and the resulting hardships it caused to me and my son.

  : I did not like the property at all. It smelled of body odor and curry. 1 restroom downstairs. I slept in the top bunk. Hard board. No courtesy given that I’m elderly and that was a challenge for me.
  : The staff took over all the common areas-like the kitchen, living areas and tv room. No conversation nor asked how I was doing. I was so alienated. I was locked out of those areas at 950pm (staff had a liquor party in those areas and was told to go to my room upstairs) and let back in the next morning after 7am. There was only the narrow hallway and my upper bunk bed to hang out, no common area at all to relax in. (Doors locked) like a child told to get to bed and stay in your room. I had an early plane to catch and I found the kitchen area door unlocked. I made coffee and then 1 staff member named Alexandra scolded me because I was in her kitchen. I was a guest that paid for this place. I felt like a child and discriminated because of my age. I cried all night, trying not to disturb the other 4 men sleeping in my room. Yes, 4 men and myself. 5 adults stuffed in a tiny tiny bedroom. (2 bunks and 1 single ). Literally all sleeping next to strangers in again tiny, maybe 30 sq ft room. And no working bathroom either. There was one downstairs we were told to use. I returned/handed my key directly to Alexandra upon leaving at 7am and this hostel still has not reversed the $20 key deposit. This was my “end of life “ journey, but all it did was made me feel so lonely, displaced, disrespected.. hurtful.

  : Drunk guests and my rental car got broken into and my tools where stolen from the drive way of the facility
