  : A Very old house. Something needs to fix it before rent Our room door dropped when we walked into the room . The owner was friendly and asked another lady fixed the door together.

  : The view of the mountains nearby and the fact there's a shared kitchen are probably the only good things we could say about the place
  : When we first arrived, the first thing the host said upon receiving us was insisting that we hadn't paid even though we already paid during our booking. It is only after some back and forth that she realised she was wrong, and she didn't even apologise for it but snapped for us to follow her. She was snarky even when requesting guests to remove shoes outside the hostel, and was very argumentative and defensive when we pointed out there were no latches on individual room doors when the hostel was shared by different groups of tourists, citing that she was from the area and apparently the staff would never steal (clearly forgetting that even if the staff were trustworthy, the guests were also staying with other strangers and where no one knew each other, even though we tried pointing that out too).Other than the lack of door latches/privacy/security and abysmal hospitality, the place was in the middle of nowhere and the road to the hostel was far from the most comfortable ride. There may be multiple showers in the hostel but they came from the same source, so good luck getting any water if someone else is showering at the same time. Oh and there's also no wifi, imagine that.If not for the fact that accommodation in the east of Iceland was few and far and between and this place was relatively cheaper (only as compared to accommodation in the area anyway), I can't imagine anyone would really want to stay here.

  : Wonderful farmstead with beautiful shared spaces (kitchen, garden, veranda etc) Nicely isolated location but close to Egillstadir, wich is a quite big town in eastern iceland Loved the horses, sheeps and dogs. Hosts were kind and helped us solving a problem with our car!

  : The remote location in the middle of nature and a colony of arctic terns, the horses and the riding session, the story of this house and this place....
  : It is a long bumpy ride, be prepared!
