: Before reaching to Dundee someone called me and mentioned that room with double bed was not available, is it okay if they put me in a room with twin beds. I said fine, no problem. When I reached to the property I saw the room with two beds, the twin beds were those beds that you see in student accommodation. It was fine. Then I checked the toilet and saw sink with double water taps. I have problems using those kinds of taps. I showed the receptionist the photos from their website where it shows sink with single water tap. She said they have those rooms available upstairs. I was surprised that why I was told that they are fully booked and no more rooms available. We went upstairs and the room was what I originally booked. The photos are really misleading. The room was with carpet that looked discoloured, yellow, dirty. The bed and bathroom, furniture looked clean, tidy. The bathroom door was damaged where it looked like someone punched it. The radiator in the room was very dirty. I went to Dundee for medical reasons and was suffering from a lung problem as well. I mentioned if she can find another room, she took me to another room where it was similar. I mentioned about my health issues and asked if I can get refund and leave. She tried to contact the manager but no reply, she doesn't have authority to issue refund and also offered to clean it. I said I don't want her to touch that radiator at all. I have stayed in Ibis hotel before in other places, but I have never seen any hotel like this and stayed in a room like this after traveling for so many years. I have stayed in many budget hotels with minimal facilities. But I knew what I was paying for and what I am getting. This looked like a false advertising and deception. The receptionist girl was extremely nice and tried to be helpful but she is a young kid, she should not be placed on duty with no authority to solve problems.
