  : I loved the staff, all friendly and always had a smile and helpful. We did get upgraded due to the toilet not flushing in our original room

  : Room felt a little dated and tired, bathroom needs re tiling. Mattress although comfortable had springs boinging all night and needs to be replaced. Bedside light wasn't working. A lot of high up cobwebs.

  : The beds (as in above photo) are very comfortable and love the rococo design BUT the bottom of the bed at the end on both sides is lethal. Really easy to bash knee or stub toes in middle of night on bathroom visit!! Also original room we were given (no 10) was far too hot with no opening window. (Understand there is air conditioning but not a fan of this). Staff very politely and willingly swapped out the room for a different one with opening windows - so no complaints

  : The hotel looks nice and the patio with the view across the valley is spectacular.
  : On arrival there was an auction taking place at the hotel so parking for hotel guests was very difficult. It would be useful if there was a dedicated parking area for hotel guests, they should take priority.The patio area needs maintenance, the slabs are loose and dangerous. The area needs a very good clean, bird droppings on the tables and the wall. There are only two tables and many people, so people were sat on the wall, but everything is covered in bird droppings. It gives the impression the area is not maintained or cleaned. This area would be the best feature of the hotel if it was appreciated and managed. The ground floor room I was in faced into a courtyard. People in the courtyard and the auction venue could see straight into my room. Also very noisy from their conversations right outside the room window. When making my booking or at least at check in, I should have been warned of this. The room was very hot, a fan was provided which helped slightly, but the fan was noisy. The room and bathroom is very tired and in need of complete refurbishment. The hot water is absolutely scolding, so please be very careful with the shower and sink. No bottled water available in the room, for £125 a night a couple of small bottles of water being available would be expected.The restaurant staff need training or better management. They don't come to your table, you have to wave for their attention or go to find them when you need anything. The menu is overpriced for the very basic choices and basic food. Because the hotel was very busy with the auction, there was long queues to the bar, had to queue for 10 minutes to get a drink from the bar. If the hotel hosts such venues, then they should have more staff so hotel guests are not impacted. Breakfast is a buffet, hot breakfast items are kept in warmers, only scrambled egg available. No freshly cooked breakfast options, which I would expect at £125 a night.
