: Very little. The facilities and room were clean and that is the ONLY positive thing to be said about this 'hotel'.
: How is this place still in business?? I travel very frequently and have never stayed anywhere where I felt as unwelcome as I did at the Waldhotel. The female manager greeted me by demanding upfront payment IN CASH ONLY for my entire stay. Certainly no mention of that on Booking.com. When I came down to politely ask if we could change our room to one with WiFi (it only reaches one half of the hotel) - she complained that I was interrupting her dinner then made a huge fuss about the fact that I had momentarily sat upon the bed in my original room (this for for the few seconds it took me to attempt to log onto the wifi). She very dramatically swept the duvet off the bed and escorted from our time capsule room from the 70s to a smaller one with 50s decor instead. (I can confirm for any antique fans out there, these were all original items of furnishing, although I doubt any of them are of any value). When I cancelled my stay for the following days over email that evening, completely in-line with their cancellation policy, it was accepted. Unfortunately, the next morning when I went to check out, there was apparently no one on the premises who was able to refund my cancelled nights. A few days later, when I had the opportunity to return, my request reaulted in my being confronted by an elderly, irrate, barely dressed man, who claimed I was robbing him of the money for the originally booked additional nights, threw a partial refund at me (in front of my 5 year old kid) and proceeded to open the door and loudly demand our immediate departure. I'm a huge fan of Fawlty Towers but trust me, actually staying there was far from a laughing matter.
