  : A very nice public house with an amazing garden. Great food with amazing helpful staff Good car parking facilities and you can come and go at any time as you please through a separate door of the pub even when closed.
  : Our sink was only small and must have been blocked in the pipe so you could not run the water hot as the sink would have over flowed. So used the shower which was very good. No hairdryer but not an issue for me.

  : The beds at the Red Lion were comfortable and linen and towels clean and white, but we wished we'd stayed in another of the chain hotels (with comfortable beds!) that we had used for the rest of our trip. It would have been a cheaper and more reliable option.
  : We wanted to show our Kiwi visitors what a good traditional pub stay was like but were extremely disappointed. Our rooms were very small, even though we had paid for one deluxe double (which was nowhere near the size of that pictured on Booking.com), and they would definitely not have passed the "Four in a bed" cleanliness test! Our bathroom was incredibly tiny and the sink was totally blocked so the cleaning staff are not vigilant. The grouting in the shower was mouldy and the bottom fixing of the shower riser bar was broken. There was no shower/hair wash. There was also a sweet wrapper in one of the bedroom drawers. The double glazing in one window was totally blown with 3 cms of water trapped between the panes. The website says all rooms have a mini fridge - ours didn't. It is also silent on breakfast. Breakfast is not offered, strange as a good pub breakfast is part of the appeal of a pub stay. Luckily there is a great village community shop nearby and we got everything we needed from there with friendly service. We didn't eat at the Red Lion as during our walk around the village a local warned us off. We found a very acceptable carvery at a lovely pub five minutes away alongside the canal.
