: The hosts (Sykes Cottages) never apologised to us about a terrific leak that occurred towards the end of the holiday or offered us any other accommodation on the worst night of the leak. No apology made or acknowledgment of our discomfort. We left early as the smell from the leak onto the carpets was bad. The woman who I spoke to just asked what time we were leaving rather than acknowledge our dissatisfaction first. We were only asked what time the cleaners could get in and whether the assessor could come and see the damage. I have heard nothing since. The accommodation was in a court which was not made clear in the details. It was very close with other properties and altogether there are 19 other places in this development. It is NOT near the beach (as shown in the photos) and the amenities (shops etc)are quite a distance away. The property has a light coloured carpet throughout and no place to 'shut' a dog in at night. It is all open plan. There were only 4 of us staying and the kitchen would have been a squash with more than that. The oven was very difficult to work out how to use and the TV was small and not SMART! The sofas and one chair were VERY uncomfortable and with 8 people would not have been enough to accommodate everyone sitting around. The storage heaters were hard to get 'right' for heat and the downstairs bedrooms were either freezing cold or boiling hot. The accommodation in bedrooms is not equitable as the upstairs room is TOO big and the downstairs bedrooms too small. It is dark down there and overall in the living accommodation and there is no view from the living room/kitchen. The area the accommodation is in is very pleasant and we visited some lovely beaches and coastal walks. They were quite a drive away though and down some VERY narrow roads. Not enough loo paper, bin bags or a sharp knife (as per for holiday cottages).
