  : As I grew up in this town/city I knew the Hotel under the old management/ original owner I had an idea what to expect. Great view on the balcony at the back, which brought back memories of the time I spent there with the boy scouts. During my stay on only met one member of staff who covered reception and also cleaning. She was exceptionally friendly and helpful. A very big thank you to her.
  : A minor dislike was that the restaurant not been opened yet. Due to reopen on 3rd September though. But considering the problems caused due to Covid and resulting general staff shortages in the hospitality in Switzerland this, for me is a very minor issue.

  : The staff is friendly; the beds are comfortable; the bathroom is nice though simple; there is a kitchen block in the room, which is the reason we took this hotel; the balcony is definitely a very nice addition; so is the pool; and last but not least, the entire hotel is spotless clean which is something Switzerland is well known for. So in short, this hotel ticks all the important boxes and I can recommend wholeheartedly. BTW, the breakfast is included and in keeping with what you expect in this price category.
  : This is one of those hotels that are in a way frustrating. After they have done all the important things right, that's all. In other words, there is nothing serious to fix, so it would not be overly expensive or troublesome to bring this hotel up to an outstanding hotel (i.e. with a bit of effort, they would be getting a 9 score). Some of the things that hold it back: The interior is very austere, with a bit of clever light and perhaps one decoration on the wall, it could look chique; I am not expecting AC, but a fan in the sweltering heat goes a long way; mosquito nets at the windows / balcony door would allow you to keep the windows open with the light on; there are no hooks in the bathroom; there are hardly any kitchen utensils and all the plates and glasses are odd and look like they have been depleted (they are literally the last ones standing). All of these things are first world problems, but none of them are difficult to fix. Perhaps the owner doesn't realise it, or doesn't care because at this level they get the business they want. Who knows, it makes me wonder.
