  : The room was clean and spacious—complimentary tea and coffee provided.
  : Our group of 16 thirteen-year-old boys on a football trip, accompanied by women chaperones, faced a series of distressing incidents at Days Inn. Upon arrival, the boys, understandably excited, were a bit loud in the reception area. Instead of addressing the parents, the male receptionist directly threatened the boys, saying, "Boys, you need to be quiet, or I might have to kick you out." This comment was inappropriate and uncalled for, especially since no prior warning was given. Such a threat should never be directed at children and felt like an unjustified power play.Later that night, the night manager claimed he received complaints about noise as the boys played games in their rooms. The parents promptly settled the boys. However, confusion arose when a delivery driver got lost. When we approached the night manager for assistance, his demeanor was hostile and unwelcoming. He gave unclear directions, and when we sought further clarification, he became even more aggressive. My friend tried to cancel the order but was confronted by the manager, who demanded she leave immediately, threatening eviction for the entire group despite separate bookings.His hostility escalated, and he threatened to call the police and social services, stating they would remove the children. This threat was particularly distressing, as one of the boys, who is autistic, had a severe panic attack due to the aggressive stance. The situation was mishandled and felt deeply rooted in racial and disability discrimination. The group's composition of women and young boys made his aggressive and misogynistic behaviour even more appalling.My experience at Days Inn was profoundly negative. The night manager's behaviour reflected racial bias, misogyny, and a lack of understanding or empathy toward individuals with disabilities. Such conduct is unacceptable in any hospitality setting.   : Only stay in this hotel if you are white or you will not be treated with kindest or respect.Until this weekend I never quite understood or acknowledge the term “white privileged” or the the fact that I am a white female and have probably been privy to it my entire life with out even realising.I booked a room with my son and a friend who are both white, age 13 and both belong to the same football team. When I arrived the blond lady at reception seemed polite and helped me check in. She then noticed that the rest of the group travelling with me who were entering the hotel were black and of different cultures and her entire tone and attitude changed, immediately she told me that if the children continued to make noise she would chuck them all out of the hotel. This was before they had even checked in. The “ism” narrative from here until departure was set. The hotel made us feel like we were checking into a high category prison not a leisure facility where talking and laughing was not allowed under no circumstances.Might I add that we travelled from London for a children’s under 14 football tournament. We come from a well regarded and established football club and the majority of our children currently play for, have played for or will be playing for category A standard football academies in London. Discipline, obedience mutual respect and kindness have been instilled in all who are privileged enough to be apart of this football club-who esteem themselves on there high standards. The prejudices and utter disregard for the travelling party was completely unjust and the only word I have to describe it is “Racist”There on, the guests where treated like inmates in a prison not a hotel and the sequence of events and attitude from the nightshift staff which followed was appalling.
