  : It was a fantastic value! Only 3 blocks from the Magnificent Michigan Mile. It is in the heart of what's happening! Just 3 blocks north of the river and only about 7 or 8 blocks from Lake Michigan. Plenty of very nice bars, restaurants and nightclubs within a 1/2 mile. The price was VERY REASONABLE. Check-in was VERY PLEASANT. D.W. our receptionist was so cordial and had an engaging smile. The room was comfortable (not big) but nice for one person. Bathroom was big and spacious. The vibe was eclectic. The lobby had plenty of nice couches, lounge chairs and awesome for a relaxing conversation with a great bar. Bottom line...Great price for a nice place in a great location. PLUS...they offered a link for a great price for parking across the street and over one block.
  : Probably the only thing was that the window shade/curtain was not very sturdy and fell down when pulling it. NO BIG DEAL. I put it back up and wasn't in the room long enough to have it matter. The view was just the other wing of the hotel.

  : The communal area was quite good with a bar to the front. There was an atm and laundry facilities available which wasn’t expensive.
  : The rooms were incredibly small.. we got a deluxe queen room and were unable to even open our suitcases on the ground because there was not enough floor space. The rooms were very dirty and not updated. Our bedsheets were also dirty with marks over them. We asked if we could move rooms and they said all the rooms were of similar size and standard. The windows were extremely drafty and not sealed properly so there was no escaping the city noises and constant ahu fan units outside. We had booked for 4 nights there and ended up leaving after the second day because the rooms were just so bad.

  : Freehand Chicago is a great hostel. I had a very pleasant roommate from Spain. The rooms are small, but the bathrooms are very nice and the bunks are comfy. The bar and restaurant are great, and a good way to meet fellow guests. Staff is professional and personable at the same time. Great location, too!

  : The staff was excellent! Very helpful. We loved the location which made it easy to get around town either walking on blue bikes or mass transit. Lots to see and do in the area. Best prices we could find and the place is really nice. Great value.
  : The lobby and restaurant area is so dark and it was a shame because the weather was beautiful outside. The rooms are really small but we expected that since we stayed there before.
