: Our room was beautiful and so were the grounds- think English country house. The bed was massive, so comfortable and the bed linen was high quality. The breakfast was plentiful, beautifully cooked, and options were many and varied.
: I think our expectations were set too high by the reviews we had read and by the higher price. The welcome was a little chaotic. Cookies and hot drinks were advertised as being a nightly feature from 6pm. At 6.15pm we were wandering around trying to find these. A random person said she would go and find out for us. They did appear but again it was chaotic and we felt like a nuisance for having to ask where we could get the hot drinks and how to use the drinks machine. We walked in to the centre to get some food. Chatham is very pretty but eating places werent as plentiful as other places we stayed. It was a good ten minute brisk walk and some of it had no sidewalk. I would say a car is vital to get around from this property. We were on a road trip staying in a variety of city hotels and seaside hotels and guest houses and sadly because of the high price and location this was our least favourite. I hate being negative but we splashed out to stay here and our experience was nowhere near the ones on other reviews.

: We had arrived before check in earlier in the day and were told our room would be ready in an hour. when we went back an hour later they said they had overbooked our room and given it to someone else. Gave us a lesser quality room for nothing for thenight
