  : Breakfast was mediocre. I ate alone hotel was deserted. I thought the whole place was generally a little grubby. I feel with a little work it could be excellent.
  : Cleaned and tidied. The stair carpet was patched.

  : Cannot fault for food and cleanliness. Like many older properties the maintenance is a constant challenge.. eg toilet roll holder badly attached and falling off,broken window pane in bedroom temporary fixing. The stairs,narrow and steep were a challenge not expected. There was a stairlift to the first floor. Safety was good with key opening doors to each floor. Parking is first come first served at back of property.limited. Friday nights disco until 2 am. I had been informed prior to visit and it did not invade my room on the top floor with my earplugs! Staff very friendly and keen to help. First impressions of this high street hotel were a bit daunting for a lone female traveller as entrance bar and restaurant male drinkers dominated. No help with luggage to top floor up those stairs either. However I found the whole experience very good...thankyou.
  : If had known stairs so steep with no help I probably would have booked elsewhere

  : Bed comfortable and bath big enough with plenty hot water.
  : Decor dirty and in desperate need of redecoration. Carpets leading to bedroom dirty. Was advised that loud noise friday and Saturday but wasnt told that our mid stay would include noise from regulars smoking outside and close to our bedroom, smoky room and noise till past 12 at night. Could hear laughing and everyones conversation whilst trying to have a good nights sleep, which ended with us checking out earlier even though we had paid for 2 nights stay. Wouldnt stay again glad we left. Should be classed as a 1 star or below.
