  : Location was great, Gardens are lovely.
  : Wish they would invest more in the rooms. Repairs are done cheaply -- and end up giving room a bit of a DIY funky feeling than professional work. Our room (Ocean) shared a door with adjoining room, and the door was thin/flimsy. Conversations flowed too easily into our space. The area for the bed is small, so there are no side tables. We used the chairs to hold water glasses/electronics. (sure, we could live without them, but...) There is a little love seat, but it is not a comfortable place to sit. They'd be better off with two comfortable arm chairs: Just THINK about how people might use a room other than to sleep, especially during chilly, damp weather not conducive to sitting outside. Silly thing like converting a small closet to hold mini fridge and coffee maker, and LEAVING the bifold doors on, even though they can't close anymore - Just take the doors off for goodness sake! This room could have been charming, but it ended up not being very comfortable. The bed was okay, but would you please consider a full, quality mattress pad? A bare mattress peaking out from the side where the flat sheets come loose just looks cheap and uninviting. The room rate was fine given the market, but It could be a much nicer place -- and worth a few extra bucks a night if they took as much care for the interiors as they do for the exterior grounds. Hope this doesn't sound too picky, because the place isn't bad, just not wonderful. There are too many other choices in Carmel for a return booking.

  : Charming cottage.
  : There was a huge window with no covering and we couldn't sleep due to the light. The breakfast was far away and not that great.
