  : Dated, not very well laid out and the use of names instead of numbers makes it difficult to navigate. Needs money spending to update. Bathroom in my room was tired and needing updating.

  : The staff were excellent, very helpful and courteous and the hotel is in a great location.
  : The hotel looks tired. It really needs refurbishing. The first room we were given was very small and smelt damp - as if there was a problem with the drains. We were moved and the second room we were given was much better. It was a room we had stayed in on a previous occasion several years before. The decor had not changed since then, but had become very tired and a little worn. For example in the bathroom the wash basin was stained and did not drain very well. There was almost nowhere in the bathroom to put toiletries - the single glass shelf above the sink was not properly fixed so that anything placed on it was at risk of falling and breaking. We have stayed in this hotel several times over the years and indeed in several other Hotels du Vin in other cities. We like the quirkiness of the buildings and rooms and we do not expect cookie cutter amenities. But for the high price we do expect a certain standard, and we feel things have slipped at Hotel du Vin Cambridge since the last time we stayed there, approximately 2 years ago.
