  : This casa rurale was terrific. Google did a terrible job of locating it (first up an un-navigable road full of boulders, then up a mountain road where Google took us down a wrong turn and then simply stopped halfway up the road and refused to give us more info. A call to Helen set us back on track-up the mountain to the sign to Betes and then stay to the left. Helens casa was a lovely mountain house in a tiny village surrounded by gorgeous vistas. This is a world away from impersonal hotels. We felt right at home, enjoying a delicious breakfast, sitting out at night having wine and cheese, experiencing the relaxed life of a little mountain town. My kids especially loved the uniqueness of staying in an unexpected, out-of-the-ordinary place. We started our mornings running trails in the mountains and exploring roads to other small, mountaintop villages. Then a hearty breakfastloved the bread with tomato spread and the cocoa with the coffee-before heading out to Odessa y Monte Perdido for some fabulous hiking (as gorgeous as Yosemite without the crowds). These are the kinds of impressionable places we remember-the places that change us, in small but great ways.

  : Town is very charming. Hosts were very welcoming. Basic but good breakfast.
  : Room gets hot in summer and we only had a window in the ceiling which provided no draft. Google maps led us down some wrong roads so we had to backtrack (not the properties fault). Hotel is a 15 minute drive from a nearby town.

  : Beautiful location.Excellent attention to detail.Very warm and cozy with lovely shared sitting room with good log burner and dry logs. Beautiful bed linen and comfortable beds.Breakfast very good value for money.

  : I was greeted by the owner in person who showed me to my room and the rest of the facilities despite my late arrival (10PM). I felt right away like home. Breakfast was served by the owner and I had all his attention for more coffee, an extra toast by his presence wasn't intrusive.
  : nothing could tarnish my general first good impression of the place and the hosts.
