  : Friendly family run hotel where there is clearly a good team effort and the service is friendly but professional. The hotel seems to be extremely well managed but the family are very much working managers and they work very hard. For the class of hotel the breakfast was above average with eggs cooked to order and excellent service. Although Monday is Ruhetag (well deserved) every effort is made for smooth check in and to refer to a good alternative establishment for food and drink only a few steps away. The restaurant is first rate - unpretentious but better than average - with excellent lunchtime menus at very reasonable prices. We only had open wine but it was all very good. Highly skilled and effective table service. Legendary home-made apricot dumplings. Very good quality ingredients cooked with care. We have been back for many lunches and never had a bad experience.
  : With outside temperatures of 35 we would have liked air con in the bedroom, but this is not common in hotels in the area and for most of the year, not necessary. Even though our room was south facing it was manageable. The Rosaliengebirge exert a moderating influence on the climate.
