  : We did not use our stay and was promised to get our money back by an employee in their reception. We did not get any money back and when contacting them they imply that we are lying and that we were not there at all. We have photo evidence. Then they gave me an email address for my complaint, but it is not working, so now I am trying here: When making the reservation at booking.com it says on the front page that check in is between 13.00-00.00. We came to the hotel on the 5. of July around 10 in the evening and went around the corner and up the stairs as it said on a sign in front of the hotel. The door was closed and we had not received a code. We checked everywhere on mail and phone. There was a sign saying that we could go to hotel zur post to get key cards, but when I went there they said that it was only if it was arranged beforehand. Then I drove back to my family who were waiting in front of the hotel. Luckily we got a room at Pension Bei der Post just next to (highly recommend to use it - so sweet), but of course had to pay for that room. The next day at 9.45 I went to hotel Blchertal and spoke with an employee. She did not speak English, so we used a translator on her phone. In the attached photo taken in the reception you can see that she told me that the hotel would return the money. she did so after concluding that we did not use the stay and did not receive the code. After talking on the phone with the hotel I am very disappointed by the manager's reply; that He/she checked the cameras and we were not there - implying that I am lying. I am sure that you can check again around the times that I mention here, but you can also see in the attached photo that it is from Bacharach, in your reception the day after our stay. I am sure you can also recognize your own reception on the photo. We still want our money back as promised.

  : Self check in is handy if you arrive at non business hours, but I received too many messages from the hotel for that. Location is ok, there is a parking in front of it.
  : It is a bit far from the center, walkable but in bad weather not pleasant, there was a hole of 2cm on the bed sheets, bathroom door did not close correctly. The balcony has a view of a dark green wall, only there for smokers I guess, not a nice view at all. Staff asked if we wanted breakfast by message, I say yes, then it was supposed to be ready from 8. We went at 8:30 through an internal door and entered a big room where I supposed the breakfast buffet was, but there was nothing there. Then an Asian woman came and I had to speak to her translator to say we had booked breakfast but I didnt see it being ready. Not a word of English or German, very very hard to have a conversation this way! People working in this business need to be able to communicate. Then I said, if it is not ready, we need to leave, we cannot wait, then she said (through translator) that we could leave. When passing by the door on the way out we saw there was another room where people were already having breakfast!! Overall a very stupid thing only because of terrible communication. We went to have breakfast at the local bakery and I believe we were better off.

  : Lovely quiet location but still in walking distance of the center. Very spacious and modern room. Breakfast was good.

  : Comfortable room, very clean, very quiet.
  : Check-in is complicated and not user-friendly: you get a code sent to your email (NOT Booking message box) which opens a safe-box with your room key in it. For assistance there are phone numbers which took many attempts until answered. When I arrived late evening there were 3 other people outside, dumbfounded by the instructions and unable to get into their rooms. The hotel is also far from places of interest - not a walking distance to food etc.

  : Room was very comfortable.
  : Hotel was too far off from the main location. Area didn't have any public transport, or at least it wasn't operational. It was difficult to walk with luggage for 30 minutes. City mostly doesn't have GPS signals

  : Fascinating old building, it would be interesting to know more about it. Secure garden parking for bikes overnight. Very quiet.
  : Self checkin. Works well but very impersonal. Never saw anyone until morning.

  : It is not possible to pay at the hotel despite your website offering the opportunity. There are no staff present at the hotel. Payment proved difficult via the hotel link.
