  : Tony and Sarah are brilliant hosts. Our room was a very comfortable haven to rest and relax in after busy days. Both Sarah and Tony gave us really good tips about the train to Canterbury and where to eat locally.

  : I was on the Pilgrim way from Winchester to Canterbury an thus the "The Old Alma Inn" was an ideal overnight-stop for me in Chilham, easy to find on the way, but on a very busy traffic road. But during the night there was not much traffic and due to the fact that I got a nice room towards the back-garden, it was quiet and I slept well.Anthony made a delicious and very tasty English breakfast. Brian made a very nice and friendly welcoming at my arrival and introduced me to the house. So did Anthony the other morning when he made and served a tasty breakfast.
  : Everything was fine an in fact there is nothing real negativ to tell about. The only disappointing thing is that the house is directly located at a busy street and it is difficult and dangerous to traverse to road but the pedestrian path is on the other side ... so be careful when you cross over !

  : The breakfast was ok (until the dog spoiled it).
  : Everything! The room was small and very hot with no fan provided. The road noise was unbearable all night. The toilet was almost impossible to flush. However, the shower was easy to work. It only had two settings freezing cold or scalding hot. The owners dogs were Alaskan Malamutes and twice during our short stay they attacked our two small Jack Russells whilst at the same time the owner claimed that these dogs dont attack other dogs (until they do). On the second occasion one of them ran in THROUGH THE KITCHEN into the dining room where mayhem ensued for us a for the other guests at the breakfast table. Very shortly after this incident we were asked for our room key which had mysteriously disappeared and we were charged 70 for a replacement !!!!!! He then had the audacity to attempt to charge us 60 for our two small dogs. (admittedly a bowl of water was supplied overnight).Nowhere in their original advert was there notification of this outrageous charge. We also take great exception to being called mate & love and whilst searching for the elusive key his language was flowery. In our opinion they still have a lot to learn about hospitality.

  : The bed was quite comfortable and wi-fi was good
  : Where to start this place is located on a very busy road which was noisy and difficult to cross. When we arrived the man behind the bar explained the owner was absent due to a family emergency and he and his partner were covering for him and had no relevant experience. Our room was clean and tidy but the noise from the road outside was very loud. We had walked 7 miles from Lenham to Chilham on a hot day so were very disappointed to find the shower didnt work - the water was either scalding or stone cold. The man from reception stood in the bathroom for 3 - 4 minutes to get a bearable water temperature but by the time hed left the room it was stone cold again - this is clearly dangerous. In addition the towel rail in the bathroom fell off the wall onto my foot and the toilet did not flush properly. Before we left to return to Chilham to find some dinner (having established on-line there was nowhere else to stay in the village) we were asked what we wanted for breakfast and what time we wanted breakfast. When we returned from dinner we were asked if we would mind having breakfast half an hour later so another pair staying at the hotel could eat first. We said yes if they could offer us a working shower in the morning. They said we could use the shower in their room! The shower in our room failed to work again in the morning but we preferred to stay unwashed. We left after breakfast - we went to drop the key at reception but the man there told us we would need it to let ourselves out the front door, all without leaving his seat and continuing his phone call - rude!

  : Sarah was very polite. I appreciated how I was driven in and out to the college for my course. Is fine for a one night stay
  : There is much unpleasant here. It is outdated the doors dont close fully and there is a gap in-between the door and the frame. Breakfast was served but almost felt pressured to have a full English every morning even when declined the morning before and guilted into having a full English being told how it would be a waste when was previously declined. The owners would argue often between themselfs at 6-7am in the morning and due to thin walls you can hear it. The male owner has came to the dinning room table in his robe whilst serving the breakfast and would refer to me as sweetheart and at one point babe. There was stains on the beddings and pillows even after said bedding was washed. Upon nearing my final few days at the stay I was informed that it was wrote in theirs books that my stay was ending two days prior to what I had booked. When I had stated that was incorrect the owner took out the book which had the booking information went through the book saying I paid for 12 nights and it ended on the Friday. I had paid for 14 nights and showed proof as via booking. Com and it was resolved two days later after he had to contact bookings.com to confirm what I said was true. The dogs were pleasant but in the mornings you would often hear them. The female dog would often get upstairs and defecated on the landing and you would be informed of the dog doing so during breakfast. There was often cans of open beer left on the counter when you walk into the actual building. Upon being collected from my course and driven home I walked in to see a can of open beer on the counter and as far as I was aware there was only the male owner in the building.
