Traveller Type: Family with Young Children
: -Location close to beach & supermarkets. -Lift available to apartment. -Spacious balcony. -Good swimming pool for children with grass surroundings. -Good bathroom and shower.
: -Keys needed to be picked up from safety deposit box not located close to apartment as was outside of office hours. -Agent charged 30EUR (!) for this and on top taxi drivers charged us extra 30EUR to/from airport. -When visited agent, reason for charge was "because they need to have someone on standby in case something goes wrong with entry"... surely this is also something they would be on standby for during the day? -3 different keys required to enter accommodation. -Only 1 exterior gate out of 4 could be unlocked. This 1 gate caused consistent injury to hands due to design. -Consistent smell of sewage and urine surrounds buildings. -Not one single thing provided for those renting apart from one toilet roll. Not even soap. -We had to buy a dustbin with bin liner for the bathroom. -Needed to visit agent in city centre to ask for kettle and hairdryer.... a 40 minute round trip by foot. -No shelter around pool which is covered in hot sunshine from morning to evening as full time residents do not like permanent umbrellas by pool. Another 50EUR we had to spend for shelter for children. -Accommodation by busy road with loud traffic. -Air conditioning difficult to work. -Extra charges for one towel each and sheets are a disgrace. -Agent aggressively warns of charges it will add if damage is caused... but forgets to add many items already damaged such as cracked washing machine window, broken toilet roll holder, broken microwave protective cover etc In summary, we never felt that the agency went out of its way to help us even though we were the client. It was only after we paid up front that the caveats to our stay were revealed which is very unpleasant. Having travelled extensively and happily used self-catering accommodation, this one visit has changed our minds so that we are not hurt again. Remember... you are being charged EUR170 per day. Then add an extra 20% to these fees for the basics.
