  : Rooms are up a narrow windy staircase and no lift, which was ok for us but might be difficult for other guests. The restaurant downstairs looked nice but was very fancy, not really what we wanted, we had a drink there but thought it was very expensive.

  : We had booked a De Luxe twin room. As we were travelling we were unable to book early as we wanted to be as close as possible to Calais for our onward travel. There were only doubles available in other hotels but as we are friends (and my friend is married) it was important to have a twin. We shared a room to cut down on expenses. We were told we had booked the last twin. When we arrived it was around 10.30pm and we discovered the room was a double, not a twin. We were told there was nothing else available. Given the hour and the lack of availability in other establishments we had no alternative but to share that space. We both clung to our respective sides of the bed all night which meant neither of us were able to sleep/relax properly. We are in our sixties and seventies. Had we known it was a double we would have taken two doubles in a cheaper establishment and got a decent nights sleep.
  : The establishment advertised a room that clearly was not available. It meant we went out of our way to stay there only to not get the much needed good nights sleep we needed as we were driving a removals van from the South of France to UK. The en suite had an opaque glass door which meant there was no real privacy and given that we were neither family members, nor a couple, it made for an uncomfortable experience.

  : I was not familiar with the area and was trying to book something near the city center. However, despite the location, it was still a great place. There was parking, which is always good. The room was upstairs and the stairway was narrow, so be careful if you aren't good with stairs. The room was nice, and there was a fan - bonus!! The windows faced the street so it was a little loud with traffic, but once we laid down we fell asleep because we had walked all day. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was fantastic!! I would highly recommend Le Vivier - the price was good, the bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. But, make sure you bring a washcloth or soap sponge - that is something I found that most hotels do not have.
